Why did you revert me? I was removing copyrighted material that violated Wikipedia's copyright policies. Hut 8.5 13:47, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ice cream
I don't know what's up with the anonIPs making unexplained deletes to that article, but some of those deleted sections appear to have been copied from other sites (including the ones you and I have recently restored). This article may need massive cleanup. --健次(derumi)talk 17:12, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- I agree think it should be cleaned up but not by annons who don't comment on it. Lt. penguin 17:13, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- The anonIP you reverted appears to be an actual vandal with some sort of anti-Turkish vendetta, based on his or her other edits. So that blanking is probably a mere coincidence, but yes - explanations of content removal would be good. --健次(derumi)talk 17:22, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- What about reporting the IP. Lt. penguin 17:23, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Actually i looked through the history and there are multiple IPs deleting large chunks of the article I'll put it up for protection. Lt. penguin 17:28, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Well, I am the "anon" who has been deleting the stuff about ice cream production (not the Turkish stuff though). Anon this afternoon as I could not remember my password whilst at work. Having looked up the definition of vandalism I find it to be "Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia". Can you explain why removing imaccurate and misleading dumbed down text, which it turns out is lifted from somewhere else and presumably aimed at children, can be seen as compromising the integrity of Wikipedia? I would argue that it is quite the reverse. If you care to compare the deleted text to the description here: http://www.foodsci.uoguelph.ca/dairyedu/icmanu.html you may be enlightened.

- As we were saying, the article should be cleaned up, thats does not mean deleting chunks of information but rather improving upon it. I don't think the information should be removed if it contributes to the readers understanding of the subject. The "Vandal" we were referring to was the one that deleted the Turkish section for no given reason, He shouldn't be editing it as it seems he has the "vendetta". Both sections may need to be cleaned but that doesn't justify deleting them. Lt. penguin (Talk) 00:21, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

- If some of us see the same, reverted deletes, we tend to presume the newer deletes need to be reverted as well. I do look at the edit summaries, so Hepatacyte's anonIP comments were ultimately useful in discovering the plagiarism. I do prefer to see information improved upon rather than removed whenever possible. I'll stand corrected by Hepatacyte that the production information he deleted is inaccurate; hopefully some accurate content can be added to Ice cream soon. --健次(derumi)talk 04:57, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
