And who are you exactly?

[edit] LShtm

I assume you work there. Is it sensible for you to be hacking out propoganda?--IanDavies 13:09, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Yes I do - Web Manager at LSHTM and I edit this entry on request by the School's Director, Andy Haines. All content is drawn from official publications and as such in the public domain. It is your right to disagree with what is stated but I ask that you take that up with the Director and stop defacing our entry in this way.
I have just spoken to Andy Haines PA. It is not you Page, it is WIkiPedia's Page.--IanDavies 13:39, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
In answr to your badly pced question. Someone who knows how to format edits on WikiPedia, Understands what Propogada is, and understands spotty little network zits.--IanDavies 13:45, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AIV

If you wish to list someone at Vandalism in Progress, please read the instructions carefully and follow them. Thanks! KillerChihuahua?!? 16:59, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Admittedly, I'm a newbie but on Vandalism in Progress it does say that 'Repeated vandalism of a page by a single user should be listed at Administrator intervention against vandalism.' and not on the page you are referring me to?
My error, I did indeed mean WP:AIV not VIP. Which is where you didn't follow the directions. The directions are on the page. Further, all you did was paste the contents of your talk page, did you not? Read the instructions in the big green box. Let me know if you have questions. KillerChihuahua?!? 17:14, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Still a bit confused, sorry. I'm assuming you are referring to the templates? Do I simply copy the content out of these and stick on the user in question's talk page?

If you are speaking of the "test" templates on WP:VAND, then the answer is, Pretty much, yes. BUT be sure it is vandalism, and use subst, and the -n switch, and so on. Why don't I walk you through it one time? You tell me where the first instance of vandalism in question is, and I will walk you through how to deal with it. Or if you prefer, I'll find a vandal and we'll do it that way. KillerChihuahua?!? 18:00, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
He's complaining about my revert of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Which I revert because of the lack of references and the semi-offical nature of his task. Claims about being the leading in Europe would be disputed by other institutions etc. It's not undisputed leader in the UK.--IanDavies 18:09, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
Well, if that is the case, then it is a content dispute, and neither of you have posted on the Talk page. Lshtm, whatever your case for including this information, please read WP:CITE and WP:V before you attempt to gain consensus for adding the information. KillerChihuahua?!? 18:15, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Fine, I shall change to "The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is *a* leading postgraduate institution in Europe for public health and tropical medicine".

[edit] Additional references

Would you please take the time to add some additional references? Some which are outside the school site. Thanks much! KillerChihuahua?!? 21:25, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

All content came directly from the Archivist at the School. In the absence of any specific challenge as to accuracy I will check with her if there are other general references available - I'm guessing published books would do the trick? Sorry you have been dragged into all this...

Now done.

I don't mind being dragged in, I've been dragged into far sillier things. If you have a content war happen to you in the future, there are a number of conflict resolution paths to take - feel free to post a note on my talk page and I will take a look and advise as to appropriate courses of action. KillerChihuahua?!? 12:28, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
Clearly you path of resuolution. Is to ignore the Wikipedia rules and cosy up to an important instiution. You have cleary shown that you don't know what the rules of WikiPedia are for. You just interested in keeping people happy at the expense of the encylopedia and it's ru--IanDavies 14:15, 18 January 2006 (UTC)les.

[edit] Sir Ronald Ross

Sir Ronald Ross' Ross Institute and Hospital for Tropical Diseases, opened in 1926, was incorporated into the LSHTM in 1934, per this article about him. I have added this information, and the link, but it is not in the LSHT article - perhaps you would like to add that? KillerChihuahua?!? 12:39, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

That's very helpful, thanks. I will try to corroborate with the Archivist and update accordingly. I also take your point about including more recent activities - I was, and still am, planning to do that. Finally, thanks for the improved page layout and the additional sources - very helpful.

not at all; we are here to write a comprehensive encyclopedia, after all. Are you planning to enter a section on the Ross Archives? I understand that is a rather important asset. KillerChihuahua?!? 14:44, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
