Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) is a non-profit public broadcaster that has been providing regular radio services since 1926 and television broadcasts since 1957.
LRT operates two national television and three radio channels.
It also provides satellite and live internet broadcasts, radio and television podcasts.
Organization employs around 650 people and receives about 75 percent of its funding from the Lithuanian government. Although predominantly government financed, LRT does sell advertising. Its operations are overseen by the LRT Council.
LRT joined European Broadcasters union in 1993.
Service is based in the capital Vilnius.
LRT uses 3D Studio computer graphics equipment as well. Studios of 70, 120, and two studios of 300 square meters are available. There are also OB stations.
Lithuanian radio broadcasts on short waves 9710 kHz to Europe, 08.00 – 09.00 UTC; 7325 kHz to North America, 23.00 – 24.00 UTC; 9875 kHz to North America, 00.00 – 01.00 UTC.
