LIBA (Loyola Institute of Business Administration) is a Business School located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

Established in 1979, LIBA is one of the premier management schools in India, recognized for providing business education par excellence. It is increasingly also getting noticed for its research prowess and management development programs. LIBA is a sister institution of the 80 year old famed Loyola College, Chennai. Both these institutions are run by the Loyola College Society, and run by Jesuits known all over the world for their enduring vision and commitment to imparting excellent and quality education.

The autonomous school is governed by a Board, and offers a full-time MBA (PGDBM) program (2 years), part-time MBA (PGDBM) program (3 years) and various executive diploma courses and also is a resource center for PhD programs offered in affiliation with the University of Madras. It is a known innovator in management programs - for instance, its Firm-Customised Business Management Program and its Blended Learning Programs are popular formats that even the best Indian Schools were forced to adopt. Current MBA classes have a size of approximately 120 students. Present Director of LIBA is Father P. Christie.

Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) was established in 1979 with a three-year part time PGDBM programme mainly to cater to the needs of those executives in and around Chennai to acquire knowledge and competence and to hone their managerial skills.

The part time PGDBM programme has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Responding to the acute need for world-class management professionals in the globalised economy, LIBA, since 1995, offers a two-year fulltime PGDBM programme. This programme has been approved by the AICTE and is recognized as equivalent to an MBA by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, located within the sprawling Loyola campus in a sylvan setting, LIBA is a world in itself. The various blocks are

The LIBA library, with over 18,000 volumes is one of the best libraries exclusively on management subjects. The library is housed in a spacious, computerized and wifi-enabled centrally air-conditioned building and is open seven days a week. It subscribes to thousands of Indian and International journals both as hard copies and electronic form.

It provides access to information in several electronic formats: CD ROMs, online database (EBSCO) and intranet database (PROWESS). It has excellent collection of audio visual aids and also has in-house photocopying facility. It has inter-library arrangements with British Council, AIRC and MMA.

Despite being a serious Business School, Libaites have found time to pursue their areas of interest in the most innovative and enterprising ways. There are clubs catering to the area of specialization of every student and this includes Mark-iT Club for Marketing, Le Vox Populi for Human Resources, Finance Forum for Finance. Then there is MindWorks, the club for die-hard quizzers.

E.T.Club - In collaboration with the Economic Times, LIBA has established an E.T Club for students to discuss various economic issues from time to time. Eminent speakers from industry, the Press and academic institutions address the students. LIBA students also attend similar gatherings in other institutions.

Having a diverse Indian student community makes festivals rather more colorful at LIBA. The enthusiasm of the students are always on a high on days of occasion like Holi, Diwali, Pongal, Christmas, Easter and many more. Talks about Sports, there are LIBAites who are passionate about all sorts of sport ranging from Formula One to Soccer. The students arrange competitions at times where teams are formed on the basis of batch the students belong to. From die-hard cricket fans, you also have people who follow the European Football scene by the minute.

After the completion of the first year in the full-time MBA program, Students take up projects during the summer with corporate firms in order to enhance their practical knowledge of all that is being taught in the classes. This programme lasts over a period of 8 to 10 weeks.
