[edit] Discussion

I am startled by the reference to canals from the Merrimac to the Charles River. Can someone provide a reference? I should think I would have heard of that before, but I have not. That would have been a long canal. Are there any vestiges of it remaining today? Davidb0229 16:19, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

  • That would be the Middlesex Canal, a 27 mile long barge canal built to connect the Merrimack with the port of Boston. More info can be found here, and here --Nebular110 17:36, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
