RE "Standard for a residential home is 7 litres for one cubic meter of room for heating annually."

  1. Litres of what? (And, actually, a more generic quantification of energy (eg BTUs) would probably be more helpful than a quantity of a specific source of energy.)
  2. I don't see how this number could hold worldwide in different climates. The location or climate where it applies should be stated.

According to my knowledge, it's consumption per quadrat meter annualy, not cubic meter.
