[edit] Sources

The article has 5 sources. Perhaps it is time to remove the {{Not verified}} tag?--Dakota ~ ° 22:04, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

Most of the so-called sources were minor cut & pastes of the same press release. Another was to a blog. I linked to the full journal article, which includes references. Actually the original wiki article was basically the same PR. It's easy to see why it was questioned. I thought it was a joke at first. One good source is better than 5 mirrors of the same PR that is also the basis for the article. Ghosts&empties 05:35, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Treatment

Any information about treatment would be helpful. Are there therapists that specialize in love sickness? Are there drugs or certain foods that can diminish the strength of the desire for love and/or sex? Have there been any studies about how long such emotions usually last and whether it usually goes away naturally after a certain amount of time? Are there studies on the effects of admitting one's emotions to the target person?

I'd like to know about what you can do about it.

Remedies indicated include:
  • Aerobic exercise (30 minutes, 5 times per week)
  • Time
  • Avoid music with lyrics, especially blues and country
As to the earlier questions, just about any therapist could help. So could talking to a friend (not online). But drugs or foods aren't likely to help (see anaphrodisiac). As far as studies of laying it on the table, it's an art not a science! If you can find ways to spend time around your beloved, in a group or whatever (not stalking), and are observant, you'll know.

[edit] Is it okay if I add this?

The song Aneurism by Nirvana has the line, "Love you so much, it makes me sick". Could I add it?

If we include all musical references to lovesickness/heartsicness, this page would be nowed under by country songs. I don't think it would be a valuable addition. Ghosts&empties 13:40, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

i feel so distressed due to love will it cure?

- You can always wonder and wonder what is going on with your love life but you have to remain confident in the person you love; because Love is a two player game. There is a fine line between infatuation and Love. With infatuation you are so interested with one person you end up loosing yourself with-in him or her. Love is the ablitly to co-exsist with another person on such a level of constant nirvana. ep. Two lines constantly running side by side ever so closely but never touching. twisting and turning but never touching. I'm experienceing love sickness right now. and it's not fun. I miss her too much too often. my confidence level has fallin to the way side. I want this to be rectified, but what I have wrote above has helped me to understand whats going on with me. I've told myself to muscle through the problem and just wait for fait to show me the way and to never miss a moment.

[edit] Inaccurate

Heartache links to Love Sickness by a disambiguation page, but Love Sickness is not the sole cause of heartache. Maybe this doesn't mean much, I just felt like voicing my opinion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.132.234.185 (talk) 16:31, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Relevance...

Is there any relevance in the inclusion of the fact that Ibn Sena was a Muslim? 82.41.10.26 (talk) 14:10, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
