I met Love 22, once. He came to Boston for the World Series, and I happened to see him doing his origami things with his $22 bills. He told us that he had legally changed his name to reflect his beliefs, and he showed us his passport to prove it. Sure enough, there it was: "Love XXII".

He pointed to the Roman numerals and said, "I'm a king in Europe."

He was actually a really nice guy (and way deep into the baseball trivia). Certainly, he carries around less suppressed animosity than Gene Ray, whom I also met.
