Lovozersky District

Lovozersky District (Russian: Ловозерский район) is a district (raion) of Murmansk Oblast, Russia. Its administrative center is the village (selo) of Lovozero. District's population: 14,311 (2002 Census); 18,263 (1989 Census). Some of the population is Sámi.
The district was established in 1920 and encompasses almost the entire northern half of the Kola Peninsula, excluding the town of Ostrovnoy.
