Lovers Need Lawyers is the 2004 EP predecessor to The Good Life's 2004 full-length, entitled Album of the Year.
This album is the 62nd release of Saddle Creek Records.
The track "For The Love of The Song" makes several humorous and self-deprecating references to the group's earlier song, "The Beaten Path", from 2002's "Black Out".
The music video for their single "Lovers Need Lawyers" was filmed inside the gymnasium of the old West Harrison Elementary School in Pisgah, IA. The video features people of the community and students from the current West Harrison High School.
