Love or Something Like It

Love or Something Like It is the title of a 1978 album by country music susperstar Kenny Rogers. It was Rogers's fourth #1 hit album.

[edit] Overview

The album's title cut ("Love or Something Like It") also topped the charts. Though this was the only single to be issued from the album, another cut, "Momma's Waiting" (written by Rogers), was issued on the B-side of a 1978 major hit single, "The Gambler". Other songs included on the album include "There's a Lot of That Going Around" (a love song about trying not to fall in love, but finding that task impossible to do when you meet the right person), "Buried Treasures" (a song about murder, when a man catches his wife cheating with another man – not to be confused with Rogers's 1983 top 10 hit "Buried Treasure" from Eyes That See in the Dark) and a hard rocking song called "Highway Flyer".

Produced by Larry Butler, this album shows why Rogers has seen acclaim for being a diverse artist, while many of the songs show why he is a prominent figure in country music, he isn't afraid to do heavier rock songs or use heavy string arrangements or even use orchestras.
