"Love Won't Wait" was the second solo single from former Take That member Gary Barlow.

It was released after "Forever Love" the first single from his debut solo album Open Road.

The track was written by pop star Madonna who heard a sampler for his debut album before giving him the song.

The single was another success for Barlow becoming his second number 1 single in the UK. In UK the single was listed as a double a-side single on the charts, as "Love Won't Wait" was paired with "Cuddly Toy", Barlow's cover of Roachford's 1989 hit single.

Madonna actually wrote "Love Won't Wait" in 1992 for her then boyfriend Nick Scotti, her co-writer is credited as Shep Pettibone. The demo of Madonna's version was recorded at the early stages of her Bedtime Stories album project, and features alternative lyrics and a more soulful arrangement. The demo of the original Madonna song has since been leaked onto the Internet.[citation needed]
