Love One Another was originally recorded by dutch singer, Amber, for her self-titled album. In 2001, Cher released her own cover of the song in her Believe follow-up album, Living Proof.

In 2003, Love One Another and When the Money's Gone were released as Cher's third and final American single. Although When the Money's Gone managed to top the Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart, Love One Another did not. The only success that the song managed to achieve was earning Cher a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. She lost the award to Kylie Minogue's song, "Come into My World."

In 2004, Cher added Love One Another to her European leg of the Living Proof: The Farewell Tour.
