[edit] Gameplay

The game is all dialogue and graphics. Throughout the game, you’ll be given parts where you have a small amount of time to make a choice in the dialogue, which will affect the game’s outcome.

[edit] Heart Meter

Each girl (except for Haruka, Keitaro’s aunt) has a heart meter. If you make the correct choices in a dialog, the girls will start to like you more, adding hearts to this meter, and will also change their character “mug-shot” used when they have dialogue.

[edit] Health Points

Keitaro, will get kicked, punched, thrown, and otherwise bashed around by the girls when they get mad at you. This will cause you to lose hit points. When the game starts, Keitaro has 6 Health Points. As the game progresses, Keitaro's Health Meter will increase, there by increase the maximum number of mistake he can make. Every time Keitaro rests he will gain back HP. This is commonly right before a save point. If you lose all your hit points and you’ll have to start over.

[edit] Chapter

The game will let you save at the end of each chapter. Each chapter has a theme to the dialogue and the choices you must make – themes just like the cartoon (like when you must help Shinobu escape her parents). You’re given quite a few save slots, so you can easily continue from a different point if you screwed up somewhere or don’t want to replay the whole game to see the different endings.

[edit] Endings

There are many different endings. As you complete endings, the game will keep a “photo sticker album” where it’ll show snapshots of your different endings. The game also features a Replay option that lets you watch the dialogue from an ending you’ve completed, but this time the game automatically chooses the decisions you made for that ending.

[edit] English Modifications

English Modification basically mean modifying the game to the English Language. In case of Game Cartridges, special tools must be used to convert the data on the cartridge.

[edit] English Patch

First off you will need the modification. These generally come in many forms and version and some English translations are better than other and some fan generally chose to keep Japanese words. Example Onsen - hot springs.

[edit] Cartridge Copier

This is where things get tricky. a Cartridge Copier lets you download the GBA Image (ROM) onto a computer hard drive. (note that have the image on your hard drive is not illegal if you own the Original Game Cartridge.) However getting your hands on one of these may prove to be difficult because it requires you to order it in from the internet.

[edit] IPS Patcher

These programs allow you to patch the image with the modification. Once the modification is complete than you can simple send the iname back to the Original Cartridge and play it on you Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP, Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite.
