Love's Been A Little Bit Hard On Me was a 1982 hit single by country-pop singer Juice Newton. It was a #7 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 during the summer of that year. It also charted at #4 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and #30 on the Billboard Country chart. The recording garnered Newton a Grammy nomination for Best Female Vocalist in the Pop category. The song was written by Gary Burr.
The popular music video for this song shows Juice Newton comically getting hurt by her lover. He accidentally gives her a concussion, breaks her arm, fractures her leg, and eventually allows her to fall off a cliff. The final shot shows Newton in the hospital in a body cast, with her leg in the air. Popularized by steady rotation on the then-fledgling MTV, the video received the "Best Video" award form the American Video Association.
