[edit] Removal of saveourlc.com link

In recent days, the external link to http://www.saveourlc.com, which was on the Louisiana College article for a while, has been removed. The person removing the link initially was anonymous, and the IP could be traced to the college intranet.

The external link in question illuminates some of the issues raised in the second paragraph of the summary. This forum provides an avenue for people to obtain information about the college and the recent controversy surrounding the college's realignment "with conservative Evangelical Christianity." It also illuminates the concerns over academic freedom briefly mentioned in the second paragraph.

Therefore, I think the external link to http://www.saveourlc.com is helpful to readers who may be curious about the controversy mentioned in the article, and I think it should stay in the article.

Persons connected with the college may have removed the link because the site in question reveals some information about the college's dealings with students, faculty members, and other administrators that the current administration of Louisiana College may want to keep quiet. However, as we all know on Wikipedia, information wants to be free and available. This includes both information that benefits us and information that may not benefit us. We cannot be picky about the information we free and the information we hide. Dustinroyer (talk) 05:34, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Absolutely not, it's a non-notable, non-encyclopedic link that exists, apparently, only to libel the college. This is not a battleground, and it is not the place for you to "expose" the wrongdoings of the college. The link should be removed. SWATJester Son of the Defender 13:38, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
