[edit] Louis Dega dying in quicksand??

My just finishing the book Papillon, has led me to notice an error in the description of Louis Degas death. The book describes Henri Charriere "making a break" in 1941 with a man called Sylvain, who is said to die in quicksand but a few tens of feet from papillon only moments after landing ashore.

Correct, so I deleted "He died in quicksand while trying to escape with Charriere in 1941." There is no mention of what happened to Dega in Charriere's novel. --144.132.108.118 04:36, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Possible Error

According to this article, "The two became best friends during their sentence," when in fact they seemed to be quite good friends before they were imprisoned. The movie differs from the book in this regard. Arundhati lejeune 09:52, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Numerous Errors

"He had a younger brother named Joseph who worked as a guard on Devil's Island." - totally wrong.

"Clusiot" - correct spelling is Clousiot

"Joanes Clusiot" - I don't believe his first name is revealed in the book.

"Fernandez Maturette" - I don't believe his first name is revealed in the book.

"Dega obtained gangrene and had his foot amputated." - totally wrong

"was recaptured in Santa Marta and spent two years in solitary confinement. He lived on a hut on Devil's Island and stayed on the island the rest of his life." - totally wrong. Please read the book before commenting, unless your sources are better than mine.--Bobogoat 16:50, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
