[edit] Maureen Beale

I now know where mystery Maureen came from. I was searching through an EE archive of the official website and found Lou's old profile [1] Gungadin 23:46, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Ah ha! What do we do with this information? anemone|projectors 00:04, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
I dont know to be honest, but I just thought I'd mention it because there was talk a while back that Maureen was not mentioned in any other media apart from the "Who's who" book and was a mistake by the author, but this shows that she was mentioned. I can't remember why it was decided that Dora was an official daughter and Maureen wasn't. Dora i'm assuming is short for Doreen, maybe they just changed that to Maureen later on, as it sounds similar lol. Or, seeing as Lou actually confirmed on-screen that she gave bith to Norma, perhaps Norma is some shortened form of Maureen? Gungadin 18:03, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
I don't think the names Norma and Maureen are related (as I work for a Norma), but Dora, Norma and Maureen are all slightly similar. Hmmmmmm I don't know what to do. I need a reminder of where "Dora" came from. We normally trust what's said on-screen over the other media... help, Trampikey! anemone|projectors 20:53, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Dora came from those spin-off novels that Trampikey read. I dont think that name has been mentioned anywhere else, but neither has Maureen as far as I know. Norma is the only one that has been mentioned on-screen very briefly in 1985, and then never again. Maybe Lou had all of these kids. Didnt they have contraception in those days :) Gungadin 21:26, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
We normally go with what's on-screen, which would be Norma, but... I don't know. Leave it as it is... less trouble that way! ;) anemone|projectors 23:37, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

I discovered this old thread on DS [2] They're discussing Maureen Beale, and some people say that Lou mentioned on-screen that Maureen had died while she was giving birth. I know this is not a reliable source as it's a forum, but our page here says that Maureen was never mentioned on-screen, and I dont want to put out false info. Seeing as more sources talk about Maureen, and only one (arguably non-canon) book mentions Dora, do you think we should change Dora to Maureen, and remove that she was not mentioned on-screen? Gungadin 23:34, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

another inconsistency. On xmas day 1987, Lou talks about her siblings. Five brothers and three sisters that time. Gungadin 17:18, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
