Lousa
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lousa (pronounced [ˈlowzɐ]) is the Spanish word for «schist» and is the name of several villages in Portugal. It may refer to:
- Lousa (Castelo Branco)
- Lousa (Loures)
- Lousa (Torre de Moncorvo)
Not without coincidence, there are large deposits of schist ("lousa" also known as "xisto") nearby these places.
Non-portuguese people may think it refers to Lousã (pronounced [lowˈzɐ̃]), which is written differently.
