Louisiana Highway 3188 (LA 3188) is a north-south state highway in Louisiana that serves St. John the Baptist Parish. It spans 2.09 miles in a south to north direction. It is known locally as Belle Terre Boulevard.
[edit] Route description
Completed in the early 1980s, LA 3188 primarily serves as a connecting road between U.S. 61 and Interstate 10, and is completely contained within the community of Laplace. It is paved with asphalt, except at the junction with the interstate, where it is concrete. Offficially designated as Exit 206 on Interstate 10 in Louisiana, it is more commonly known by residents of the New Orleans metropolitan area as the second Laplace exit, the first being Exit 209, U.S. Highway 51.
The alignment and name of Belle Terre Boulevard changed with the completion of the state highway. The original road ended adjacent to the Belle Terre Country Club and golf course, following what is now called Lakewood Drive. There are three signalled intersections: US 61, Fairway Drive, and St. Andrews Boulevard. At the northern terminus, Louisiana 3188 intersects Interstate 10 in a continuous-flow trumpet interchange; all other intersections are at-grade.
LA 3188 is a divided, four-lane road from US 61 to I-10.
