Louise Homer

Louise Homer (30 April 1871 - 6 May 1947) was a United States operatic contralto.
She was born Louise Dilworth Beatty in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She married composer Sidney Homer in 1895.
She recorded extensively for Victor Records and Columbia Records in the early decades of the 20th century.
Louise Homer created the Witch in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, and the title role in Horatio Parker's opera Mona.
The composer Samuel Barber was her nephew.
Homer died in Florida.
