Louise Ervin is the Waterloo Catholic District School Board’s longest-serving trustee and past chair. She is the past President of both the Ontario and Canadian Catholic School Trustees’ Associations. Ervin is currently running as the Liberal Candidate for the Kitchener—Waterloo Riding, in the upcoming Provincial Election on October 10th, 2007.
Ervin is a founding member and past Chair of the Region of Waterloo Community Safety and Crime Prevention Council and a past President of the Kinette Club of Kitchener-Waterloo. She is also a director on the Huron Natural Area Board.
Ervin has won several awards for outstanding leadership and service. She is the 2007 recipient of the Justice James Higgins Award for contribution to Catholic Education in Canada and the 2007 recipient of the OCSTA Award of Merit for contribution to Catholic Education in Ontario She has been nominated twice for the Rogers Woman of the Year Award, Community Service category.
In the past, Ervin has taught at the Head Start program and was a social worker in Ottawa and Winnipeg. She is a Graduate of the University of Ottawa and is fully bilingual in French and English.
Ervin is married to Robert (Bob) and has two grown daughters, Kimberly (married to Paul Mendonca) and Natasha. She has three grandchildren: Chloe, Olivia and Jack. Louise and her family are members of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Waterloo.
