Louisa (ship)

The Louisa was a ship of Philadelphia, United States during 1800.

The ship was a privateer that fought in August 1800 during Quasi-War with the French. Thomas Hoggard (Thomas Haggard) was the captain. The ship had a crew of thirty men. It was during our war with the French.

The USS Haggard (DD-555) was named in honor of the Louisa's crew and captain actions off Tarifa. The captain was wounded during the action.
