Louis de Cormontaigne

Louis de Cormontaigne (born 1696 at Strasbourg; died 1752 in Metz) was a French military engineer.

He was the successor of Vauban. Together, they designed the fortifications of Metz.

An arch bridge he build in Thionville, Moselle between 1745 and 1746, named Cormontaigne Bridge after him, is still in use today.
