Louis Agassiz Shaw was an American medical professor and inventor. He worked at Harvard University where he invented the first widely used iron lung with Philip Drinker in 1928.[1]
A year earlier, he had been arrested for distilling alcohol,[2] which was illegal during Prohibition.
