Those who used the Nine Rings became mighty in their day, kings, sorcerers, and warriors of old. They obtained glory and great wealth, yet it turned to their undoing. They had, as it seemed, unending life, yet life became unendurable to them.
– The Silmarillion
Come not between the Nazgûl and his prey! Or he will not slay thee in thy turn. He will bear thee away to the houses of lamentation, beyond all darkness, where thy flesh shall be devoured, and thy shrivelled mind be left naked to the Lidless Eye.
– The Black Captain
I am a research geoscientist by trade, although I take keen interest in many different topics, including physics, history of science, religion, ethics, morality, and Tolkien mythology, among others. I find that most technical (scientific) articles on Wikipedia are generally accurate. Unfortunately, many other articles suffer from political bias, which is not acceptable for an encyclopedia; thus I end up spending most of what little spare time I have trying to achieve and maintain NPOV in these articles.
