Lotto (Colorado)

Lotto is a long-running lottery game offered by the Colorado Lottery. It has remained relatively unchanged since the game's inception on January 24, 1989. The only notable changes were the addition of a Wednesday drawing in 1990, the introduction of a cash option in 1994, and the discontinuation of televised ball drawings for computerized drawings in 2000.
The game is played by selecting six numbers from a field a 42. Each play costs USD$1, and drawings are held twice weekly every Wednesday and Saturday night at about 7:35 P.M. MT. Players win prizes by matching three or more numbers on their ticket to the six selected. If they match all six, they win a jackpot that can be paid either in 25 graduated installments (increasing yearly), or in a lump sum worth exactly 50 percent of the annuity.
