Lothario

Lothario is a character in the play The Fair Penitent (1703), by Nicholas Rowe. Lothario seduces and betrays the leading woman. Linguistically, as an eponym, lothario means a handsome, seductive man.
Lothario is nobleman frequently in love affairs, because of that, in one instance, he must duel with an angry, jealous husband.
In The Impertinent Curiosity, a story-within-the-story in Don Quixote (c.1605), by Miguel de Cervantes, a man named Anselmo coerces Lothario, his faithful friend, to test the virtue of his wife, Camila. Though Lothario sincerely attempts dissuading Anselmo from testing his wife's fidelity, the friend insists, and Lothario eventually falls in love with Camila.
"Don Lothario" is a maxi character in The Sims 2, a romance sim associated with the Caliente sisters and his maid.
Lothario was the nickname of Brigadier General Lewis Armistead, of the Confederate States of America.
