Lothar Wolfgang Nordheim (November 7, 1899, München - October 5, 1985, La Jolla, California, USA) was a German-born Jewish theoretical physicist. He taught at Duke University.
His name is sometimes miss-spelled as Lother.
One of his most important contribution is the theory of Fowler-Nordheim tunneling (FNT). FNT has been observed in insulating thin films, for example, silicon dioxide films.
