[edit] Plot

This story begins where The Prime misister's daughter is getting bathed and then dressed. She has a faithful servant, Hung Leng, whom she calls her best friend and sister. On the other side, a poor lantern maker, Mr. Cheng is delivering lanterns and goes to the prime minister's mansion. He meets the prime minister's son, but he did not know that. After that unusual bump, he met Hung leng and assumed she was a male from the way she dressed. Hung Leng brings her mistress the male robes, so they could sneak into the festival. At the festival, They had a lantern festival, with Hung Leng meeting with Mr. Cheng again. He ended up winning the lantern contest and then the prime minister announced for the bun drawing. Everyone gets a bun and whoever found the two twin charms are lovers. If it is two females or two males, then they would be the best of friends. Coincidentally, Hung leng received the half of the charm with Mr. Cheng getting the other half. Later, the minister's wife sees both Hung Leng and recognizes her daughter beside her. At home, she and her cousin beat Hung Lung viciously as punishment. Her mistress stopped it before Hung Leng could've ended up dead. Hung Leng went back to her room with her aunt. She says her prayers and goes to sleep. The next day, they go to the temple for good luck, with Hung Leng dressed as a guy as punishment. Mr. Cheng also coincidentally went there to see the high monk who taught him martial arts. Then one monk rushed and reported that there are bandits in the temple. They tried to get the prime minister's daughter because her father threw their big brother in jail. They barely got to a safe place by the monk, and the monk got drugged by the bandits and they surrounded the temple. Mr. Cheng, disguised as a monk, helped them through a secret passageway. Only, the bandits were aware of this and caught the mistress. They try to rescue her, with Hung Leng distracting the bandits and Mr.Cheng knocking them out. Then, Mr. Cheng and the mistress jumped. They survived and went to shore, where Mr. Cheng gave her his extra clothes and caught fish for her to eat. As a few days went by, thy fell in love. In the meantime, the prime minister's wife was very worried, so she asked the monks whomever saves her daughter will have her hand in marriage. She and her cousin knew that none of the monks would marry, but they were too weak and desperate to even listen. A few days passed, and the prime minister's men found them. Hung Leng and the mistress were over joyed and hugged each other. Mr. Cheng still thinking that Hung Leng was a male was shocked by this because she was hugging a lower level servant and a guy. Hung Leng then reveals who she really is and said that her mistress and her are like sisters. The minister's wife offers Mr. Cheng a large amount of money, though he refused because he is a monk and he did not want the money. They return, but the mistress couldn't stop thinking about Mr.Cheng.
