The Los Gatos Observer is an online source of news and information for Los Gatos, California and surrounding area. It was formed by Alastair Dallas in May, 2006, largely in reaction to the purchase of most of the traditional newspapers in the Silicon Valley area by MediaNews Group of Denver, Colorado.
The Los Gatos Observer serves the 30,000 residents of Los Gatos and approximately 30,000 more in neighboring Monte Sereno, Chemeketa Park, Aldercroft Heights, Redwood Estates, and other so-called "mountain communities." The Observer is updated continuously with articles, an event calendar, and local photographs. Subscribers can respond to articles and post free community advertisements.
