[edit] Fair Web Directory

Hello there! Well, please do not worry as you have not done any violations. On wikipedia there are certain criteria (in various categories) for inclusion of an article. Based on the current content of this article, a fellow editor may have judged that since the details provided are not in the form of a nutral article, but are rather as a list of links, it forms an advertisement (which is discouraged as a non-encyclopedic material). The best course of action that I can suggest is:

  • try to improve the article content by providing context, notability and assertions (otherwise, the proposed deletion might won't be avoided)
  • discuss on the article talk-page (by stating your argument against the proposed deletion)

Having said that, it is not required to have a full length article as the first version itself. You may create a short snippet (called a Stub) and may expand it later.

On the outset, it is always preferable for a newcomer to understand the jargon and how things work on Wiki by going through the links that are provided in the welcome message. I would urge you to please take some time off editing and consider updating yourself with the wiki-system. Hope this helps :-) Please don't hesitate in asking for help either at the village pump or to me. Cheers! --ΜιĿːtalk 12:04, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Nomination: Fair Web Directory

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem to me that Fair Web Directory meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fair Web Directory. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, an administrator will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. --  Netsnipe  (Talk)  08:55, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Internet Plus

A tag has been placed on Internet Plus requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Beach drifter (talk) 20:37, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
