Just a few lines about me: I am a British / Brazilian citizen called Marcello Raphael Fortuna (also known as Marc Fortuna) and since 23/05/2003 entitled Lord of the Manor of Lancaster.

During my lifetime I had many experience in different areas, such as actor, director, member of parliament, teacher, scout leader, reporter etc. Nowadays I am a member of the British Astronomical Association (UK), The Planetary Society (USA) and OPB - Ordem dos Parlamentares do Brasil.

As a Wikipedian, I intend to use my knowledge in the mentioned areas to help improve this online encyclopedia - a mark in the modern era of knowledgement.

I am open for constructive discussions and I appreciate any input and/or corrections on my articles.

Marcelo Rafael Fortuna was born in the district of Jaçanã, Sao Paulo, on May 26, 1970, where he spent the first twenty years of his life. Son of Raphael Fortuna and Helena Mischiatti Fortuna, he had a great influence, principaly in his life as a poet, from his grandmother - the Brazilian poet Dora Gomes Mischiatti (Vo Dora). In 1990 he's been ellected President of the CCPCSJ -Social, Civic, Promotional Communitary Center of Jaçanã. Two years later, in 1992, Fortuna run for the post of Member of Parliament in the city of São Paulo in the strongest political party on that time: PMDB.

His academic life has been spent at University Sant'Anna, University Theresa Martin and Florida International University (Language and Literature) and the Open University (Astronomy and Planetary Sciences). Fortuna has also been a Portuguese and English teacher in public and private schools: Nossa Senhora Aparecida, Saint Judas Tadeu, Irradiacao, Carlos Borba etc.

During this time, Fortuna has also acted in theatre as an actor and director, and as a journalist. In 1997 Fortuna went to Buenos Aires with Genoveva Marao Alfagali (former vice-president of the CCPCSJ) and in 1998, attending an invitation of Alejandro Tommasi (one of the Mexico's most important actor), Fortuna travelled to Mexico where got involved with the Mexican celebrity scene. In July 1998 Fortuna moved definitively to London (the land of his ancestrals) where he opened together with his partner the company Rickmarc Publishing, launching the important magazine "UK Brazil" and on 23 May 2003 he acquired the title of Lord of the Manor, becoming officially Lord Marcelo Rafael Fortuna of Lancaster.

Besides a writer, Marc Fortuna is also a considered actor and model but it was in the poetry that he found the true essence of being. Some people served as life inspiration for Marc Fortuna, and for that reason he offers the glories of more that conquest to his relatives Dora Gomes Mischiatti, Helena and Raphael Fortuna, and Richard John Price.

The poet and writer Marc Fortuna (Marcello Raphael Fortuna), is nowadays one of the great names of the universal literature, with some of his poems published in different languages, such as Portuguese, English, French, Spanish and Italian. Marc Fortuna was born in São Paulo (Brazil) in 1970 and now he lives in London (UK). Besides being a poet and writer, Marc Fortuna used to be politician, teacher, entrepreneur, reporter, actor and model. marc Fortuna is member of the UBE-US (Brazilian Union of Writers - United States of America).

I run the SETI@HOME project on my computers since 16th March 2003 with 657 classic workunits and 8,778 classic CPU time. Member and creator of Rickmarc Team at SETI-UK. SETI@home is a great way to join efforts and do what we know as true. ET intelligent life forms do exist and certainly many of them are aware of us as well. Our history shows give us many reasons not just to believe but also to search different ways to contact them.
