Non-notable. This information can be merged with the county article if really necessary. Original author failed to follow procedure and removed the speedy delete tag. Rklawton 02:51, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of Speedy Deletion Tag

You're a bit impatient there. Please let people have the opportunity to even explain themselves.

I have removed the speedy deletion tag. I appreciate the sentiment that serving as mayor does not automatically entitle someone to his or her own article. However, given the importance of the office to a community, I do not think that being a small-town mayor automatically justifies speedy deletion, either. The article is extremely new. Unlike a lot of "speedy" candidates, this one isn't so open-and-shut. A decision like this ought to at least go to AfD. I would not have any objection to that process being employed, and considered it when I first saw the article. However, instead of rushing to CSD-A7, I thought I'd give the creator of the article a fighting chance (however, I do not condone or excuse his removal of the original tag). Good points, of course. I'm still not impresses with the progress. I have visions of tens of thousands of half-page bios about has-been mayors. Editors usually create bios starting with the most significant details and then flesh them out. I assumed (probably correctly), that this was the case with this article as well. Now that I've looked at it again, I see that it's a much more suitable candidate for AfD voting. I should save the speedy stuff for the obvious vandals, and that's certainly not the case here. I'll pop by in a few days and see how it looks. Without significant additions, though, I'll tag it AfD at that time. Rklawton 02:44, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Sounds like a good plan. I think many of us have rushed to "speedy" (myself included) on occasion. Agent 86 04:05, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

Moved this page from the original Lorraine Bergstram, as that is clearly not the spelling of her name. --Roby0215 16:03, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
