Lorne Matthews was the pianist for the Cathedral Quartet from 1971 through 1972. He had previously played for the Landmark Quartet. He returned to the group in 1979, leaving (along with Roy Tremble and George Amon Webster) to form a trio called The Brothers. He was born in Ontario, Canada.
