[edit] Teacher
Lorna was a highly punctual teacher, didn't smile, and dressed professionally. She was diagnosed with MS, which she didn't agree with. She tries her hardest to get on with her work and make her friends happy (especially Izzie Redpath and Tom Clarkson). She committed suicide after trying to get Izzie and Tom back together after their break up. She was known to have been involved with Andrew Treneman.
She was known to have been a good teacher and has received good work from her pupils doing so. She recently has been known to get angry (Dale Baxter) when at work. She then left the school, but returned to invite both Tom and Izzie to stay in a cottage with her (Tom didn't know Izzie was invited and vice versa: Lorna's plan).
[edit] Personal
Lorna was married to Tom Clarkson but got divorced and Tom left her for Izzie Redpath. Lorna enjoyed the company of Andrew Treneman. In the second series she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and eventually committed suicide after deciding that she couldn't live with the illness.
[edit] Suicide
Lorna committed suicide by taking an overdose. She took Tom Clarkson and Izzie Redpath to a cottage in the country to attempt to get Tom and Izzie back together. Lorna said she was "going to go now", when she said goodnight, meaning she was going to bed. Izzie, who was still lightly drunk, suddenly realised that Lorna had not cleared away the plates and glasses, which was very unlike her. Things suddenly clicked and Izzie ran upstairs, into Lorna's bedroom, where she found Lorna, dying on her bed. After seeing both, Lorna smiles before passing away. She had taken a massive overdose of sleeping pills. Izzie called down to Tom to call an ambulance, but Lorna had already cut the telephone wire, hidden Tom and Izzie's mobiles in the ice bucket, and stolen the car keys, so they couldn't call for help. Tom found Lorna's suicide note, and together with Izzie he read it. The two then went up to Lorna's room, and sat with her. Izzie and Tom finally hugged over her death. Lorna's plan worked, and then Tom and Izzie later got back together after a shaky relationship.
Shortly after her death, potential school investor Jerry Preston caused outrage among pupils and staff by announcing in assembly that by taking her own life when diagnosed with MS, she had shown that her faith was weak when God tested her.
