Loris Timmins (née Beaumont, a name she keeps for business purposes) was a fictional character on the Network Ten soap opera Neighbours, portrayed by Kate Fitzpatrick. She was the shows' matriarch for three months.
[edit] History
Loris is Kim Timmins' (Brett Swain) mother, and mother-in-law to Janelle (Nell Feeney). Loris is a wealthy woman and is seen driving a black Mercedes-Benz CLK convertible. She sent money to her granddaughter Janae Hoyland (Eliza Taylor-Cotter) for a wedding present under the condition that they keep the money a secret from Janelle. Loris also took Ned Parker (Daniel O'Connor) on as a personal trainer and then invested in his company when he admitted that he was broke. She also romantically took to him, eventually kissing him in front of Harold (who liked her). When No.26 Ramsay Street went on the market, she bought it and let the Timminses live there. Harold Bishop (Ian Smith) has taken a romantic interest in her. Loris then sought to invest in Lassiter's hotel when Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) put part of his share up for sale. She bought the share of 40% but wanted the controlling majority so she approached a fellow partner without Paul knowing and bought the 9%. She is now controlling partner of the hotel. She bought the share to help her family and to give Paul a run for his money. She eventually confessed her darkest secret to Harold - she was the one who switched Janelle's daughter Bree (Sianoa Smit-McPhee) for Anne Baxter (Tessa James) 14 years ago. Harold was at first appalled, but then sympathetic. Loris told him that she now needed to do the right thing for Bree and introduce her to her real family, whom Bree had been searching for. She then left Erinsborough in search of the Baxters. She has since been mentioned when Janelle said she still had a key to No. 26, after the break-in Paul Robinson had organised. She was brought up again when Bree wanted her to be here to see if she was a compatible bone marrow donor for Kerry, her great granddaughter. Harold lied to her when she asked him where she was, but Susan Kinski later got him to tell her that she's on a journey.
In July 2007, Anne Baxter returned to Ramsay Street after Loris finding her a week earlier. Anne said Loris paid for the air fare and everything, but disappeared after she got on the plane. She met up with the Timminses in Queensland and has moved in with them.
[edit] Pet names
Loris has pet names for all of her grandchildren (or at least for those resident on Ramsay St.) They are "Botty" for Dylan, "Bony" for Scott, "Bunny" for Janae and "Biccie" for Bree
