Lorien Novalis School is a Rudolf Steiner School in the Hills District, north west of Sydney, Australia.

The classrooms are nestled into a five hectare site of bush and orchard, surrounded by gardens, bees and birds. Each class has a home room where they are under the care of a teacher/guardian who stays with the class for 7 years in primary and five years in high school.

[edit] History

Lorien Novalis opened on Monday, September 13, 1971 at Pymble with 8 children. During that term other moves finally led to a large house at Normanhurst and by the end of the term there were 30 children at the school.

During 1972 the permanent property was found at Dural and school started there in Term 1, 1973. With a combination of helpful benefactors, dedicated hard work by parents, teachers, friends and government grants, the school has progressed to a large complex of buildings housing a vital, creative education community providing full kindergarten, primary and high school education up to Year 12.

Lorien Novalis school is nestled in five hectares of native bushland in Glenhaven. It has its own orchard (a reminder of past rural days) and boasts a collection of unique, beautifully built classrooms, among the best in Australia.
