Lori Douglas

A. Lori Douglas was appointed a judge of the Family Division of the Court of Queen's Bench of Manitoba on May 20, 2005.
Madam Justice Douglas received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg in 1978 and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manitoba in 1982. She was admitted to the Manitoba Bar in 1983.
Prior to her appointment as a judge, she was a partner with the firm of Thompson Dorfman Sweatman, where she practised primarily family law. In the past, Madam Justice Douglas has been a professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba and at the Bar Admission Course. She is a frequent lecturer and the author of several legal publications.
