Lord Deadcross is a fictional character, a super-villain that appeared in an adventure of Astro Boy. Being a memorable villain, he appeared both the manga, the anime, and the Game Boy Advance video game, both in an episode/part called "His Highness Deadcross". Lord Deadcross is the dark-caped masked leader of a human revolution in the world of Astro Boy, where robots and humans coexist. His main goal is to destroy Rag, a young robot who is the President of a country, and to take his place.
[edit] Fictional character history
Astro Boy being called for help, he fought the legions of Deadcross and arrested him, discovering Deadcross' true face who looked just like Rag. It was revealed that Deadcross was the creator of Rag; he originally wanted to use him as a doppelganger in a political campaign for presidency. For that, he modeled his face after his own. Rag developed a mind of his own, and objecting Deadcross' anti-robots ideas, he went on his own campaign, becoming president. Deadcross, humiliated, hid his face behind a dark mask with a fake hook-nosed face and decided to annihilate him through terrorist activities.
[edit] Special notes
- In the game Astro Boy: Omega Factor, Deadcross' real name is Rock and he is "played" in his unmasked form by Rock, from Tezuka's "star system".
- In the 1980 animated series, the mask was part of Deadcross' body and could not be taken off.
