Lord Corporation

Lord Corporation is a diversified technology company with world headquarters in Cary, North Carolina. It was founded in Erie, Pennsylvania in the 1920s. The company employs roughly 2600 people worldwide.[1] The product line today encompasses adhesives and coatings, vibration and motion control, and magnetically responsive technologies.

- Lord mounts engineered for vibration control on trolley cars
- Transmission and engine isolators developed for helicopter industry
- Solvent-based and aqueous adhesives developed for rubber-to-metal bonding
- Outboard motor mounts developed for the marine industry
- Urethane coatings cured by ultraviolet light developed for "no-wax" vinyl flooring
- High-capacity laminate (HCL) rotor bearings for helicopters, greatly reducing vibrations transmitted to the aircraft body
- Room temperature curing adhesives used for automotive hem flange bonding
- Active vibration control product developed for the aerospace market
- Commercialization of Magneto-Rheological (MR) fluids
