The Lord Botetourt High School Cross Country Team is an extremely challenging and rewarding sport at LBHS. The team membership has dramatically risen over the past few years, and the team has put forth many talented athletes, including Stephanie Spickard and Zeke Hunsberger, who this past season won the District Title setting a course record of 17:32. He also made 1st team all Region, coming in 6th overall with a time of 16:52. At States, he ran his personal best, which was a 16:35, earning 38th overall.

[edit] The LBHS Football Team

The Lord Botetourt Football Team hasn't had the greatest records in past seasons due to one of the toughest schedules in the area. This is bound to change with star players such as Tight-End Rodney Cooper and Quarterback Emory Straub getting prepared to play out their senior year of football in 2008. Head coach Rory "Tater" Benson has high expectations for the football teams to come through Lord Botetourt High School in the near future, especially with "Defensive Coordinator" Elton Tolliver instructing the intense Cavalier Defense, which has shown to be troublesome for many teams in the past and many more to come. Coach Benson expects his team to really make some noise in the Playoffs this upcoming year and come close, if not, go to States with senior leadership from Emory, Rodney, and on the defensive side of the football is led by Zack Santolla, who led the Cavs last year along with Stone. This year the Cavs look for Santolla to lead the way on defense.
