Phone numbers

I wish I'd said this a long time ago, but ... Please don't call any phone number posted by Mmbabies. And don't post the results of your "sleuthing" in regards to where the owner of whatever phone number lives. Keep in mind that the number(s) likely don't belong to Mmbabies, and even if they do that does not give you license to actually call them. That is telephone harassment, which is a federal offense here in the United States.[1] szyslak (t) 11:11, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Agreed; no need to get innocent people snared in. It's just like the bus driver situation, they don't care about what we're doing here, so just revert the number and move on. Nate (chatter) 11:28, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Seconded -- if we see a phone number in one of the posts, we delete it or reverse the page. If the page (especially a talk page) has been locked from further editing, we let the locking editor know. It's the higher escelons that should do the legal gruntwork, not us editors. As for phone numbers in general, I should say it's off limits, regardless of who we are -- we're here to maintain an encyclopedia, not become detectives, or even Nixon wannabees. -- azumanga (talk) 23:01, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Agreed, will do. Postoak (talk) 00:03, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
