User:Madman C is a vandal whose vandalisms stem primarily from their obsession with a car accident in August 2005 a friend of his died in. Since August of 2006, he has made hundreds of edits to various pages, showing a particular predilection with the Wikipedia:Sandbox, expressing his anguish over the accident, his anger at people involved (and not involved) and God, as well as writing malicious attack articles and redirects about those people. Many of these edits contain express or implied death threats, and threats that "violence" and "destruction" will occur unless God brings his friend back to life.

[edit] Background

The accident referenced occurred on August 5, 2005, when 20-year-old Liza Phillips was killed in a car accident in South Glens Falls, New York. The details, as described in this news article, reoccur in one form or another in much of this user's vandalism.

Liza was a passenger in a Saturn VUE driven by her boyfriend Greg Parker. It sideswiped another car and flipped over. Liza was ejected through the sunroof and the car landed on her head, killing her. Parker and the other two passengers (named in the article) survived with minor injuries. The local newspaper's obituary for Liza includes the names of many of Liza's friends and relatives.

[edit] Vandalism

On August 16, 2006, User:PurpleMonkeyDishwasher made this edit to God, the first of his long history of such edits. The next day, User:Fog that turns people inside out made these edits. On October 18, 2006, User:24.29.74.132 (this user's principal anon IP account) edited the Sandbox with this first of many threats of violence. The most recent threats from the IP (all since September 1, 2007) can be found in the histories of the talk pages of the articles on "Liza", "Tom Dooley (song), and most recently the sandbox on September 13, 2007. This user has made specific threats of "mass destruction" and "the world will end".

On June 3, 2007, User:GrDoKi created the article List of people I wish were dead. On August 5, 2007, after creating the attack redirects Fuck him and He ruined my life (both redirecting to Greg), User:Madman C created the article List of people who should have died instead of Liza Phillips. These lists included 34 people including the other passengers in the car, the relatives listed in the obituary, and a few additional names, most notably someone named "Eric O——" (his relation to the vandal is unknown, if it exists at all; he has however, been one of the main targets of this vandal). He repeatedly recreated that article until it was protected deleted, at which point he started with variant titles (see Wikipedia:Protected titles/September 2007/List‎).

[edit] Targets

  • Existing articles that the user considers as related to the accident: God, Saturn VUE, Liza, Greg, Greg Parker, and their talk pages.
  • Creates nonsense articles, attack articles, and attack redirects concerning the people mentioned in the list (see above).
  • Adds similar content to Wikipedia:Sandbox.
  • Attack edits and redirects concerning celebrities who were killed in car accidents (Bob Clark, Joe Ranft, Jaclyn Linetsky), who were killed or died unexpectedly (Phil Hartman, John Ritter), or who had friends killed (David L. Paterson).
  • A persistent theme is that other people "should have died". See here, and the deleted article Useless Survivor Syndrome, which the anon IP also posted on Uncyclopedia, and which is now here.
  • Secondary (but frequently recurring) targets: Brian Peppers, Lionsgate Home Entertainment, Goatse.cx.
  • Occasionally will make legitimate edits, particularly to articles involving children's television and animation, especially Noozles.
  • Likes to make references to the Internet meme Strawberry Clock, particularly in choosing sockpuppet usernames (User:Bell Pepper Clock, User:Oranberry Clock, User:Watermelon Clock).
  • Recently (November 13-15, 2007), he has taken the tack of creating attack redirects that redirect to this page. So if you're reading this, check "What links here."

[edit] Sockpuppets

  • Has used at least 54 sockpuppets to date (47 named accounts and 7 anon IPs). Some usernames are random; others reference his anguish or his usual attack targets (see User:FYGP). All of the named accounts are now blocked indefinitely, but he seems to have no difficulty creating new ones.
