[edit] Sockpuppetry case
You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Fsbrat for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. Bevinbell (talk) 05:19, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Who is accusing me? I tried to read the section on Sockpuppeting but it is hard to understand. And I see a page with the user FSbrat. Please clarifiy what this means. This is my first edit on Wikipedia and I had no bad intentions. I was reading the article on the State Department and found part of it insulting to a group of employees. Then I looked at the edit history and found a better version, which I proceeded to paste into part of the article. I included a note about why I made the edit. I thought that Wikipedia was an open site that encouraged editing by users. My children often use the site for research, although never as a primary source, of course. If ordinary users are not allowed to edit then the site should clearly indicate this. It is intimidating and discouraging for a user, especially a first time editor, to be harshly accused of "puppetry" without warning like this.
Please let me know what I did wrong. If pasting a former version in the site is plagiarism, I apologize. I could have edited changes by hand, but found a previous version that seemed better than what I had planned to do.
Sincerely, Longnails33
I look forward to a prompt reply.
