[edit] What is it?

Londis is a UK and Ireland based retail chain... Whats your question? Ablaze 20:33, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ireland / Northern Ireland?

"..but in 1995 bought the Londis brand in IrelandItalic text and Northern IrelandItalic text outright"

Ireland consists of the island of Ireland, which is divided into two jurisdictions, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Ireland does not refer to the 26 counties only, rather the Republic and the north. Please make corrections to this entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.40.136.128 (talk) 14:22, 3 August 2006

This has since been changed, but I don't know if the current version is correct (there are no inline references.) See also Names of the Irish state. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 14:14, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Reworked with references. Should be ok now. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 15:56, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] split

from what i can tell this article talks about two seperate companies shouldn't this be in two articles Fabhcún 00:16, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

There are two completely seperate Londis businesses. One which operates on the island of Ireland and one which operates on the island of Great Britain. The confusion is caused by the fact that both businesses are Irish owned and trade under the same brand name. The business which operates in Great Britain is owned by Musgrave. The business which operates in Ireland is owned by ADM. To add to the confusion Musgrave, through it's SuperValu and Centra brands, competes against Londis on the island of Ireland. Bottom line- there are two completely seperate businesses(with some common history) called Londis - one in Britain one in Ireland and they should probably have seperate entries.
Agree - Split it! --Ablaze (talk) 02:02, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Right now there is nothing to split, as there are only 3 sentences about Londis UK. By all means expand the section about Londis in the UK, then split it, leaving a summary of the shared history at the ADM Londis article. Splitting it now would make it even more confusing. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 15:54, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The Street?

This article mentions that there is a Londis located on "The Street". Can somebody please specify what "The Street" is referring to. - Zestos 21:11, 19 November 2006 (GMT)

I see that this has now been changed to "Coronation Street". Not being a viewer of the show, I can't confirm this but I suspect it's not true. Can anyone provide a citation? Russ London 09:55, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
