Lonsdale railway station is a railway station on the Noarlunga railway line, which is located in the southern Adelaide suburb of Lonsdale. It is located 26.7km by railway from the Adelaide Railway Station. The station was opened in 1976 as a part of the extension of the Adelaide-Marino line. The station was staffed in the early days of the station but the building part of the platform has since been demolished, and there is no evidence of the building left. The original 1976 shelters remain.
[edit] Bus services
This station was serviced every hour (more during peak) by the 724 and 734 Southlink bus service from Colonnades Shopping Centre to Old Reynella Interchange (724) & Marion Shopping Centre (734) . Marion/Reynella bound buses would usually connect with City bound trains and Colonnades Centre bound buses would usually connect with Noarlunga Centre trains. This provided citizens of O'Sullivans Beach and Christies Beach an easier access to and from the Noarlunga Train. The 2006 Southlink Route changes saw the end of regular bus services to Lonsdale, bypassed to service Lonsdale mainstream industry sector. Only 3 services in the morning connect to city bound trains and 3 services in the afternoon connect to Noarlunga bound trains. These services are now identifiable with an S in the route number (724S, 734S)
