London stock brick
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
London stock brick is the most commonly used type of building brick used in London. Its distinctive colour and soft appearance comes from the yellow clay the bricks are made from, which is found in Kent. In the London atmosphere they weather down to a greyish black colour but are often cleaned up, returning them to their attractive appearance. The bricks are used both structurally or as decoration. Reclaimed London bricks are fairly sought after for decorative and conservational use.
