London Double Header
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The London Double Header began in 2004 and opens what was the Zurich Premiership and is now the Guinness Premiership. The Guinness Premiership is the top rugby union league in England.
Two games are played consecutively, involving four teams. The matches are allocated as a home game for one team in each match. The teams that play in this opener at Twickenham Stadium are London Wasps who usually play Saracens and London Irish that usually play NEC Harlequins. There has so far been only one exception to this: when London Irish played Leeds Tykes in 2005 because Harlequins had been relegated.
