[edit] History
Route E1 began on 30 November 1969 as a flat fare route replacing parts of route 211 (between Greenford and Ealing Broadway) and 255 (between Hanwell and Brentford), running between Greenford and Brentford.
Later the Ealing to Brentford section was discontinued and replaced by route E8.
The E1 has always been on a contract for Centrewest (now First London) at the Greenford garage although in the 1990s it has also been stationed at Alperton, using both single and double deckers.
